Reports continue to indicate that talk of Marshawn Lynch to the Oakland Raiders is very real.
According to Peter King of the MMQB, a West Coast source said Lynch “really wants to play for the Raiders” and feels his foundation could do great things in the Bay Area.
King says the Raiders want Lynch at a renegotiated price, and Seattle — who still hold his current rights — would likely wind up releasing him. King does expect them to eventually let him go, as not doing so risks alienating a locker room where the running back is still extremely popular. He reasons Seattle would do it as a favor to Lynch, while also admitting that the Raiders would give up little of significant value to actually trade for him.
There has been increasing chatter that Lynch is serious about ending his retirement, and this will only add fuel to that fire. There’s no indication as to when he’ll make his decision, though.
